Frequently Asked Questions
When is the right time to hire a designer?
For new construction or renovations, the earlier you can bring a designer onto your project, the better. Designers specialize in the interior of your home - how it flows, how it feels, and how it makes daily life easier or brings people together. Paired with the other trades on a project, such as an architect or builder, we create a dream team that ensures every element of your home is customized to your ideal lifestyle.
If you're furnishing a longtime or newly purchased home, it's entirely up to you when to contact a designer. However, keep in mind that speaking with a designer early (even if we don't start working together right away) may prevent you from accidentally buying furnishings that aren't going to achieve the look, feel, and functionality you have in mind. Knowledge is power!
What areas do you serve?
R Moyer Interiors is based in Hingham, MA and is delighted to serve homeowners in our local community, the South Shore of Boston, Cape Cod & the Islands, as well as the Berkshires. If you don't see your location on this list, just ask.
What is the design process like?
We stand out for our full-service design process, which includes everything from the initial concept to the final installation and styling of your home. If your project includes any construction or cosmetic work, we are happy to collaborate with your existing team or make referrals to professionals we have come to know and trust over the last decade. You can learn more about our design process here.
How would you describe your style?
We're committed to meaningful, personalized homes that celebrate our clients' past, present, and future. Each is a creative collaboration with the people who call these spaces home, which is why no two projects are the same.
That said, you may notice some themes in our portfolio: inspiring and relaxing color, warmth and comfort, timelessness, and the integration of our clients' unique, personal heirlooms and mementos. We look forward to creating a one-of-a-kind home that represents you.
How long will my project take?
The timeline of each project is largely dependent on its scope, the materials and furnishings selected (and where they come from), the availability of labor, and more. However, we don't believe it should stay a mystery. Once we know the scope of your project, we can give you a general idea of what to expect. This timeline will be refined at each stage of our design process for full clarity and efficiency. You can book a Discovery Call with Robin here to learn more.
What can I expect to invest in my project?
Like timelines, the investment in different home projects can vary dramatically. Even renovating two kitchens of equal size can vary! It all depends on the scope of work being done, what materials and furnishings you want in the space, who you will need on your team, and more.
Together, we will identify these details, compare them to your ideal overall investment, and build an itemized budget that is comfortable and smart. Our goal is always to maximize your investment, helping you invest wisely in the elements where quality matters most. You can book a Discovery Call with Robin here to learn more.
Do I need to purchase my materials and furnishings through you?
Yes, and there are many reasons you will want to! First, our vendors and suppliers are some of the best in the business. When we order from them, we can be confident in the quality of the product and their first-class customer service - which matters when it comes to shipping, installation, customization, etc.
The other reason we handle all ordering is that it keeps us in control of the efficiency of your project. By contrast, if you were to place orders through mass retail outlets, you have far less control over shipping times, item protection in transit, getting replacements quickly, etc. If you look at the numbers, it often costs more to order from retail because there is so much time and effort wasted - and it can hold back the whole project.
Safe to say, our method not only results in the highest efficiency and best quality outcome, but it means you don't have any additional work to do either… and that's why our clients love us.
What is the first step to working together?
If you're interested in working together, the first step is to schedule a call with Robin. Together, you can discuss the scope of your project and see if there's a good fit. If so, Robin will set up your first working appointment, the Home Assessment. You can book your Discovery Call with Robin here.
