As one of the oldest residences in the U.S., this historic Main Street home is no stranger to Hingham locals. Inside, however, its residents were eager to renovate the property to support modern-day living.

They hired us to help with the design while preserving the home's original character. Alongside restoration experts and a master carpenter, we removed a ceiling in the dining room and exposed the original hand-hewn beams. In the family room, we updated the existing millwork, making it functional with a hidden TV cabinet. The large, original beam in the family room was lovingly restored, removing hundreds of years of various paints, to reveal the beauty underneath. Of course, we paired these historic details with more modern amenities, including the updated kitchen, various built-ins, and timeless furnishings.
